Re: National Security and Syrian Refugee Admittance

On behalf of all concerned U.S. citizens we summarily request that you halt immediately the admittance of Syrian refugees to the United States of America.

This admittance directly poses a security threat and a specific present danger to the citizens and residents of our country. Isis has already stated that they have infiltrated and had planned to infiltrate the refugee population. More significantly our own CIA director has concretely verified this. In addition, our State Department and CIA director have stated that we cannot properly vet or screen the refugee population prior to their admittance to the United States. Simply put, one plus one equals two.

This security situation and risk is unprecedented in our history. Never before have terrorists had this level of a global foothold on the world. Never before have terrorists collaborated, planned, and strategized to the extent that they posed such an organized and developed threat with such vast resources. In addition to posing a traditional terrorist threat, they now a pose a military threat. They now control real estate. They now have recruiting power, funding, and the cover of civilian populations. They now have the ability to establish comprehensive global reach. With this success and sophistication, they pose internal as well as external threats to the United States. This is all new.

Isis leaders and operatives have the ability to persuade the downtrodden, the needy, and even the lonely to die in the name of theocracy more than we have the ability to collaborate to defend ourselves. It is of internal concern that we have allowed politicization of this issue within the government. Censorship within the FBI and its procedure dilutes rules of engagement and puts us at risk. The FBI must be allowed to do their job. We must reestablish the conviction to defend our nation and our freedom, however the urgent need to address our immediate security problem, refugee admittance, takes precedence.

The FBI director stated that looking for internal threats is like looking for a needle in a haystack. From a purely statistical point of view why increase the size of the haystack? If the FBI and CIA directors have made public this level of concern, then it is logical to conclude that the situation and threats are even more developed. If by no other logic, we must be prudent in our determination to protect ourselves from this very clear threat in this very risky refugee situation.

As a secondary matter, or longer-term matter, the refugee admittance will add to cultural unrest in the nation by adding diametrically opposed cultures that may not necessarily assimilate on the turn of a dime. Surveys have shown that U.S. Muslims, when asked if they would like to ascribe to sharia law, in most cases responded “yes.” Given that, admittance of a random population of Syrian refugees would logically produce an even greater disjunction. This is not the way to ensure integration and safety of our country’s diverse population.

It goes without saying that the American population believes more in the enemy’s capability than our willingness to thwart them. The fact that we have to write this letter to effectuate national security, our most basic and most important governmental service, means that A. It urgently needs attention, and B. A breakdown in our government’s function has impeded and precluded the safety of our citizens.

This message will be delivered hard and strong to key heads of state and news media until the U.S. government produces results and resolves the immediate urgent issue. Please halt the Syrian refugee admittance now.

The American people are compassionate and committed to come to the aid of those in the world who are threatened or persecuted. Let us as a nation come together and agree on the method by which we approach and accomplish this mission. If we commit to and establish safe zones in the Middle East many Americans and I would heavily support, and donate towards, this cause.

We trust that you will collaborate with your counterparts and address this critical issue with urgency and care.

Thank you for your time and your service,

With regards,

Bret James Bari
